OK so the picture you see above is an after thought. The one below was the original design of the shirt refashion. After I made the original shirt I did not like it as much. So I worked on it some more. But there is minimal sewing. Just a needle and thread.
A medium size shirt. I a got for 50 cents at Crafts 2000. Cut it down the middle.
Then cut a a V shape up the bottom of the shirt to right below the bust. Cut the collar off the shirt and then a V in to the neck line. The two V shapes meet at a point just below the bust line.
To make the sleeves cut from the under arms up and out then cut the point off the tip of the sleeve.
At the front of the shirt where the two points of the shirt meet cut a slit in one point and a small hole in the center of the other point.
Now take the slit and place one half it the hole of the other half of the shirt.
using a needle and thread sew the two points of the slit together on the inside of the shirt.
That is it for the the shirt in the original form. But to make the shirt a tank top as I did you just cut the sleeves off, cut them deep in to the back of the shirt and then take some scrap fabric left from the sleeves of the shirt and tie it around the back and the shoulders. That is it, so easy. Hope you enjoy this refashion.
Love it! So original and adorable. Great re-fashion!
