Fabric Bracelets

I just though I would do a quick post on these bracelets I made the other day, I was inspired by someone I saw on TV .  They are a good idea for all the fabric scraps you keep but have do idea what to do with.  I was not to picky about precision with these so don't sweat it ether.  I wrapped the fabric around my wrist gathered it up in the middle and added 2" for the ends that is how I came up with the measurement for the bracelet.
Next, cut a 11" x 8" strip.  and a 4" x 2 1/2" strip for the center of the bow, add fusible interfacing to the fabric.
.

Fold right sides together and sew down the open seem.  With the large strip sew a taper on the ends, like shown.  Trim the ends and turn right side out.  Iron flat.

Gather the long strip in the middle and tack down , with either your sewing machines or a hand sewing needle and thread.

Finish the ends by folding them inwards and sew closed.

Wrap the small tie around the center of the bracelet and trim off excess.

I  used hot glue to hold the center tie on because I like things that are quick. But if you want to wash the bracelet you have to use fabric glue or hand sew it on.

Attach snaps and there you go.

  2. Hi! I came over from Fireflies & Jellybeans where I saw your bracelets. I love them!! I love bracelets...but metal ones can be a pain sometimes when one is doing "officey" stuff...the fabric ones would be soft. They are also delightfully girly and since I live with two teenage sons and a gruff husband--I am always on the look out for anything to up the estrogen level! Thanks!
